dlY BROWS

BY CHRISTINA KALLERY

In dire need of a brow cleanup, but don’t want to shell out for a pricey salon shaping? Even if you’re sporting a unibrow that borders on prehistoric-looking, there’s no need to book a waxing session just yet. We’ve scoped out a few secrets for staging an at-home brow intervention that will leave your arches looking clean, kempt and beautifully defined.

STEP 1: When grooming your arches, it’s better to be conservative than to get carried away and end up looking like a ’60s throwback. Today’s trends favor fuller brows, so follow the natural pattern of your hair growth.

STEP 2: Start by holding a brow or liner pencil parallel against your nose; the area it hits should be the start of your brow. Next, hold the pencil diagonally from your nose to the outer edge of your eye, and end the brow there. The arch should be highest above the outside rim of your iris. Mark each spot with the pencil. Tip: Some brow kits come with handy stencils, making it easy to shade in your shape and pluck around it.

STEP 3: Use a waxing kit to save time, or rely on good old-fashioned tweezers for greater precision. Following your selected shape, remove hair from the underside of the brow only; plucking or waxing above the brow is trickier and best left to pros. Tip: While plucking, alternate between brows to make sure they turn out even.

STEP 4: Pluck any errant hairs that remain and remove any trace of wax. To calm inflamed skin, apply a soothing eye gel.
