NOVEMBER

What’s on the horizon in the world of travel.

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

Las Vegas
This month, the Strip’s spotlight will be shining down on Planet Hollywood. Formerly the Aladdin, this newly renovated resort now stands immersed in Hollywood culture. Each one of the 2,600 rooms and suites has been decorated with a movie theme, and a 7,000-seat theater will provide space for productions. The red carpet will be rolled out for the grand opening, taking place November 16 and 17. www.planethollywoodresort.com

Georgia O’Keeffe

Minneapolis
The Minneapolis Institute of Arts will be hosting “Georgia O’Keeffe: Circling Around Abstraction,” an exhibit that will examine the artist’s use of the circular motif. The 44 pieces of work on display include drawings, watercolors, paintings, pastels and sculptures—all tracking the evolution of O’Keeffe’s use of the circle. The exhibit will be on display until January 6. www.artsmia.org

Frida Kahlo

Minneapolis
The 100th anniversary of Frida Kahlo’s birth is being celebrated in the Walker Art Center. Around 50 paintings will represent a timeline of this Mexican artist’s career, portraying how her images grew in confidence and complexity. The Minneapolis premiere continues until January 20, when it will move on to Philadelphia and San Francisco. www.walkerart.org

Tempe Center for the Arts

Phoenix
What began as an architectural competition led to a $65.7 million construction project. Now, this 88,000-square-foot arts center includes a theater, studio, gallery, meeting room and 17-acre art park. Travelers can explore the arts in a beautiful setting, and businesses can plan lakeside meetings with great views of Town Lake and the Papago Mountains. www.tempe.gov/tca
