Curtain Call This month, the curtain will rise at Sidney Harman Hall for the first time. Together with the existing Lansburgh Theatre, the two performance spaces will make up the Harman Center for the Arts, located in downtown DC. This expansion will allow the Shakespeare Theatre Company to perform for a larger audience, as well as provide space for a variety of other notable stage performances. |

Impression? On October 21, the North Carolina Museum of Art will launch “Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism,” running through January 13. The exhibit, which features works from the 1850s to the early 20th century, celebrates landscape paintings by French artists such as Claude Monet, and the American painters who followed their lead. |

Continues The Georgia Music Hall of Fame has launched the first major exhibition celebrating the life of Otis Redding. On display through September 10, 2008, “Otis Redding: I’ve Got Dreams to Remember” will present more than 175 artifacts, including photographs, hand-written lyrics, posters and other rare memorabilia that tell the story of the singer’s rise to stardom. |
