Tanglewood Season
The Boston Symphony Orchestra will once again head off to the Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts, a 210- acre estate retreat that has provided a summer getaway since 1938. On July 6, performances in the 5,100-seat Shed will begin and continue on throughout the summer. Maestro James Levine will lead a host of monumental works, including Mahler’s epic Symphony No. 3 (July 14), and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 (August 17).

Make It and Break It
Don’t try this at home! Just head over to the Exploratorium this summer and give “Oops! A Make-Break Fest” a shot. This exhibit, running through September 3, gives people the chance to burn and break things to their heart’s content. The event also provides the opportunity to make homemade scientific toys, and put back together the things that they break.
