WELCOME OCTOBER 2006
Chairman’s Letter
Hello and thank you for flying AirTran Airways
The beautiful colors of fall remind us that winter is just around the corner. Luckily, we’re doing everything we can to make sure yours is an enjoyable (and not too chilly) one by adding additional service options for the winter to numerous destinations in Florida. Visit airtran.com for a complete listing of warm weather getaway options to the Sunshine State. In addition to expanding our route map for the winter, we have also reintroduced service between Fort Lauderdale and Gulfport-Biloxi, as part of our continued effort in helping to rebuild the Gulf Coast region.
Along with all the new destinations comes a little bit of history: the month of August was an all-time AirTran Airways record for passenger traffi c. With our ever-expanding route map and always low fares, we can’t claim to be surprised. But we can thank you for choosing AirTran Airways again and again—thanks for helping us reach this milestone.
Speaking of milestones, America has a rather large one coming up: the founding of its fi rst permanent settlement. AirTran Airways is the offi cial airline of America’s 400th Anniversary celebration, a series of national events commemorating the 1607 founding of Jamestown, the fi rst permanent English settlement in the Americas. We’re showing our support by helping to fund a series of educational and cultural events throughout the 18-month celebration. If you’d like to get in on the festivities, we offer a variety of nonstop service options to Newport News. And for more information on the series of events, visit www.americas400thanniversary.com.
Finally, a reminder that AirTran Airways is your go-to airline for football season. With low fares and no booking fees on airtran. com, it’s easy to book fl ights to your favorite team’s away games. And with all of our pigskin-related sponsorships, including the Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, the SEC, and many collegiate sponsorships throughout the country, we’ll be cheering along with you well into the playoffs.
Cordially,

Joe Leonard Chairman and CEO
