Step 1: “To emphasize the eyes, I like to use a light, neutral color on the lids,” says Economou. “If your eyes are smaller and you go too dark, it will make them recede.”

Step 2: Instead of using highlighter, sweep a pink or peachy shade across the brow bone. “It will visually push the brow bone back and allow the eyelid to come forward. Think of where sunlight would naturally fall, and apply it there.”

Step 3: Extend eyeliner all the way across the eye, but stick close to the lash lines. “You need to draw a very thin line at the base of the lashes, just fi lling in the spaces between them,” advises Economou. “If you want an even softer, more natural look, dip a brush in powder shadow. Position the brush against the lashes and press gently into the lash line.”

Step 4: For added drama, dot concealer just above the arch of the brow, on the temples and underneath eyes on the ocular bone. “It really opens up the eye area.”

Step 5: “I believe a woman can achieve the look of false lashes by using mascara properly,” says Economou. “Starting at the root of the lashes, hold the wand against the base and wiggle it slightly, before sweeping the brush upward. If you just do the tips, it weighs them down.” Feeling adventurous? Add two or three individual false lashes to the outer corners of eyes, applying from underneath.

Extra credit: Try a pretty hue such as aqua, silvery blue or gold, but apply it only on the lower lash line. “The most important advice I can give women is not to overdo it,” Economou says.
