The Dallas Public Library in downtown Dallas has a number of historic treasures on display, including one of the original copies of the Declaration of Independence and the first folio of William Shakespeare’s Comedies, Histories & Tragedies.

Jack Kilby at Texas Instruments changed the world when he invented the first integrated circuit in Dallas in 1958. With one of the highest concentrations of high-tech workers in the country, the area is often referred to as “Silicon Prairie.”
