WELCOME APRIL 2005
Hello, and thanks for flying AirTran Airways.
Last month, we unveiled our newly redesigned inflight magazine for your reading pleasure. This month, we’re proud to announce yet another enhancement designed to make your AirTran Airways flying experience even more enjoyable: the addition of complimentary XM Satellite Radio at every seat. Our XM service features 100 channels of news, music, sports, weather, and entertainment, and also includes exclusive programming from the Rocket Man himself, Elton John.
On February 8, I had the pleasure of meeting Elton John, who helped us unveil our innovative new inflight entertainment service at a ceremony in Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. His enthusiasm for this launch was vintage Elton, as he talked excitedly about his new promotion and posed for pictures, as you can see above. His image appears on 20 of our Boeing 717s in conjunction with this promotion. You will also be seeing him on special “Bennie and Our Jets” posters in concourses and billboards across the country. So keep an eye out for Elton’s trademark smile and glasses the next time you’re out and about.
We’ve also added two more destinations to our route map. AirTran Airways now offers service to both Indianapolis (beginning April 9) and Charlotte (beginning May 4), which means more low fare destinations to choose from. This continued expansion will help make AirTran Airways even more convenient for our passengers.
New enhancements like XM Satellite Radio and an expanded route map are part of our already successful business plan to bring travelers the ultimate airline experience. And considering the fact that AirTran Airways was one of only three airlines to turn a profit in 2004, it’s a plan that seems to be working. We’re really excited about these new developments, and will continue to look for other ways to make every trip you take on AirTran Airways as enjoyable as possible.
Thanks for flying with us. We hope to see you again soon.
Cordially,
Robert Fornaro President and Chief Operating Officer
